A well-placed area rug can be a piece of art in a living space. It can set a mood that is tranquil or vibrant. It can convey a sense of coziness or spaciousness. Functionally, it provides of bit of warmth for a home space. Here is a list of several ways an area rug can enhance a home.<\/p>\n

Vibrant Pop of Color or Design<\/h2>\n

A multi-colored or geometric-designed area rug instantly becomes the focal point of a room when it is juxtaposed with solid-colored furniture.<\/p>\n

Tone Down a Room<\/h2>\n

An area rug<\/a> can have the opposite effect, serving to tone down a busy room. If a room has furniture with wild fabrics or highly ornate wallpaper, try toning it down a bit with an earth-colored area rug.<\/p>\n

Create A Feeling of Coziness<\/h2>\n

When an area rug is placed under the front legs (or back legs too) of all furniture in a section of the room, it instantly creates a cozy gathering place. Indeed, an area rug can be used to set off any section of a room as its own cozy nook. For instance, an area rug set under a special reading chair, instantly \u201czones\u201d that area as separate comfy area. By putting an area rug under a table and chairs, an area becomes zoned for dining. Under a desk and chair, a study spot is created.<\/p>\n

Create a Feeling of Spaciousness<\/h2>\n

If it\u2019s a sense of spaciousness and freedom you\u2019re after, forgo placing the area rug under a couch and chair legs. (This technique can serve to transform a small room into one that gives the illusion of being much larger.)<\/p>\n

A stunning, high-quality area rug works wonderfully as a wall hanging. It instantly renders any room interesting and visually enticing. Plus, although a rug hung on a wall won\u2019t be warming anyone\u2019s feet, it still serves to create an ambiance of warmth within a room.<\/p>\n
